Modern Warfare 3 Zombies brings back the fan-favorite zombie killing weapon, the Ray Gun! This time, however, there are MANY ways you can obtain this beautiful Ray Gun in MW3 Zombies. Today, on DETONATED, we will show you all the many different ways you can obtain a Ray Gun in Modern Warfare III Zombies! Ready to blast away what MWIII Zombies has to offer? Here’s what you need to know:
MYSTERY BOX (RANDOM)
The first way you can earn a Ray Gun is by spinning the Mystery Box. This way could be cheap, or it could cost a fortune since it’s purely RNG on if you can land on the Ray Gun itself! This is not the Acquisition/Schematic, so if you get lucky, it’ll only last for this match and you will not be able to craft another.
We don’t recommend doing this way (unless you’re just feeling lucky) since it can eat up your points and isn’t guaranteed.
LOOT CHESTS AND REWARD PORTALS (RANDOM)
Another way to earn the Ray Gun is by looting around chests. You can either find the Ray Gun itself, or you can find the Acquisition/Schematic. This is a super rare thing to come across, but it isn’t impossible. If you do want to do this, we suggest doing Aether Nests, Infested Strongholds, Mercenary Strongholds, Legacy’s Fortress, or looting in higher tier zones! Reward Portals are given through Legacy’s Fortress and contracts; they’re much harder to do, but they give better rewards!
If you decide to try and do contracts, do them in the Tier 3 zone. This will heavily increase your chances of getting the Ray Gun Schematic. This is probably the most casual way to try and earn a Ray Gun since you’re not just wasting points on the Mystery Box in hopes you get something good. Don’t be afraid to loot chests and complete those locations if you have time!
KILLING THE MEGA ABOMINATION (RANDOM)
If you’ve been brave enough to venture into the Tier 3 zone then you’ve most likely encountered the Mega Abomination. It’s a huge, terrifying boss with loads of health and is capable of a ton of damage.
This boss is insanely tanky and can easily kill an entire squad with ease, so if you choose to do this, be extremely careful.
ACT III TIER 4 HOLDOUT MISSION (GUARANTEED)
This one may take a while, but is insanely worth if you can complete it. Enable to access the ACT III Tier 4 mission, you must unlock your way to ACT III Tier 4 by completing every mission before it, including ACTs 1 & 2. Once you complete the mission, you will be rewarded with not only a Ray Gun Acquisition, but a Wunderwaffe Schematic! This means you’ll get two Wonder Weapons for the price of one!
Again, this one takes the longest and can be annoying for those wishing to just relax and kill zombies, so we suggest doing missions as you go. This will make your experience calmer and not only focused on doing missions!
