HOW TO GET BLACK OPS 6 BETA ON GAMEPASS
With the Black Ops 6 beta coming in just over a week on August 30th, we’ve already seen various ways of being able to obtain access to the beta, such as entering giveaways on Call of Duty’s official Twitter (no longer available), preordering the Standard Edition or Vault Edition, and more. Recently as of today, Xbox have announced you can participate in the Black Ops 6 beta for free without owning a preorder copy of the game, as long as you’re a member of Xbox Game Pass.
There is no specific edition of gamepass needed, and all tiers (Core, Ultimate & PC) are able to hop into the beta on August 30.
BETA FILE SIZES
Coming with the progressive COD HQ overhaul in the following months, starting on Season 5 Reloaded on August 21st is the size overhaul. This aims to reduce the size of all COD games including Black Ops 6 when it launches on October 25th. Alongside BO6’s main launch, the beta will also be affected by the size overhaul and have a generally smaller file size.
As shown below, if you have the Season 5 Reloaded updated downloaded, the update will be ∼35GB on next-gen, ∼16GB on old-gen & around 30GB on PC. Without the S5R update installed, you’d have to install the base COD HQ application AND BO6’s beta, resulting in ∼77GB on next-gen, ∼50-65GB on last-gen & around 60-70GB on PC.
Pre-loads for the Black Ops 6 Multiplayer Beta begins on August 28th, 2024 for available platforms.

With this promotion only being available in the US, if you’re a member of Xfinity, you’re eligible to receive a beta code completely for free with no catch! All you need to do is sign into Xfinity and claim the code. It can be found on Xfinity Rewards for free. It can be redeemed here & after picking the platform of your choice Activision will send you another code to redeem closer to the date of the beta. If you already own a copy of Black Ops 6, you’re still able to claim the code and give it to a friend. However, you are only able to collect ONE beta code, and there is no way around it.
