Season 5 of Black Ops 6 Zombies is set to begin on August 7th at 11AM CT, 12PM PST, & 9AM ET. With the launch of Season 5 comes the latest & final installment in Black Ops 6 Zombies maps, ‘Reckoning’. This new zombies map will debut a brand-new wonder weapon called the Gorgofex, a “handgun” that can deal major damage to the undead. This marks the first new & original wonder weapon to join the weapons lineup. Today, we’re going over the Gorgofex, how to unlock it, its uses, as well as its variations. Here’s what you need to know:
The Gorgofex Debuts in Black Ops 6 Zombies Season 5
This brand-new wonder weapon makes its debut in ‘Reckoning’ here in Season 5 of Black Ops 6 Zombies. The Gorgofex appears to be a “living entity” in a sense as you can see it pulse, breathe, & circulate/pump energy from a heart like organ from within the weapon. Organic matter also makes up this weapons composition, such as traits from flora, fungi, & insects. That mixed with Dark Aether saturation makes this weapons composition unique & the anomaly to behold.
As for how it’s used, there are a few methods. It can be fired in rapid single shots, causing damage upon impact. If you wish to harness this weapons power to maximum ability, you’re also able to charge a shot from the Gorgofex. After Impact from a full charged shot, the area of damage is significantly increased & dissipates further. The dissipation that comes from the charged shot will create a field of gravitational imbalance.
Enemies caught in this gravitational area of effect will be lifted above players heads, only to slam back down into the ground after a short time. This will eliminate your enemies, though it’s not known if it’ll affect larger enemy types like the Uber Klaus.
Two additional variations of the Gorgofex wonder weapon will be available in ‘Reckoning’. If they function differently than the base wonder weapon, remains to be seen.
How to Unlock the Gorgofex Wonder Weapon in Reckoning
While in the Mutant Research lab, locate 2 static screens within the room. One is located to the right of the stasis pod containing Richtofens family, while the other is to the left of the Deadshot machine. A word will flash across each screen. Keep note of what both of these words are. Using these words will give you a number combination you’ll need to unlock a secret lab right above you.

Growing the Cyst
Once you’ve accessed the secret lab, you’ll need to grow a cyst using a growth pod machine against the back wall. At first, vermin will begin to spawn in & you’ll need to weaken them using your weapons. As they’re weakened, you’ll notice this machine begin to pull them in & absorb their essence.
You need to complete this process with three vermin. After completing this, you’ll then need to repeat this with three zombies. After growing the cysts, collect it from the machine.
Evolving the Cyst
Once you’ve collected the cyst, take it over to the Quantum Computing Core area & stand near these Aetherium Trees giving off yellow energy. Your player will then pull out the Cyst as it begins to absorb the energy from the plants. There are three trees in total you must complete this with the cyst. Once you’ve successfully absorbed all the energy, the cyst will now be evolved.
Defeating the Forsaken
Head on over to the Dark Aether Entity Containment room & begin to activate four computers around the room. Once you’ve activated the first computer, you’ll have a limited time to activate the next, so move with haste. Once you’ve activated all four, an Uber Klaus will spawn in. You’ll want to shoot off the shoulder armor of the Klaus & then lead him to a pressure plate directly in front of the Forsaken’s containment pod.
Once the Uber Klaus steps onto it, he will become possessed. The Forsaken will begin to transfer his essence into the Uber Klaus. You will then need to defeat the Foresaken once & for all. He essentially is an HVT Uber Klaus, complete with Uber Klaus Core. After defeating the Forsaken, he will drop the Dark Aether infused energy needed to create the Gorgofex.
How to Unlock the Gorgofex C In Reckoning
Once you’ve obtained the base Gorgofex wonder weapon, make your way over to the Executive Suites & talk to Blamchard, who’s hiding out in his office. After interacting with Blanchard, make your way the portal room in spawn & interact with a red button on the terminal.
Once it’s pressed, one of the two elevators in spawn will shut down. You’ll then need to take the opposite elevator up & make your way over to the elevator that was turned off. Once you reach it, parachute down & interact with the three red buttons along the wall as you go.
After this, head into the Quantum Computing Core room as Panos will possess several zombies. After killing all of these zombies, Panos will be fully formed in front of the main computer. Once he’s formed, you interact with him, it will kill him & fuse his essence into the Gorgofex. You’ve now crafted the Gorgofex C. This variant can be tripled packed, unlike the base Gorgofex.
How to Unlock the Gorgofex N in Reckoning
Similar to the Gorgofex C variant, make your way over to the Executive Suites & talk to Blanchard through his office door. Once you’ve done this, head over to the Quantum Computing Core room & grab the Strauss Counter. It will be located on the terminal next to where the brain is for the main Easter Egg.
Once you’ve obtained the Strauss Counter, locate a red zone. This will be an area where the Strauss Counter is flashing red & had a high reading. The specifics of where the vial spawns will vary from game to game, but once you’ve located this red zone, shoot a charged Gorgofex shot into the nearest barrier or area above you to free the serum vial.
After collecting this vial, you need to collect three other parts, the Clean Hood, PC Fan, & Wires. The first part, the Clean Hood, can be found in Mutant Research inside for the hidden lab. The same area where you collect the cyst to build the base weapon.

- The PC Fan can be found in the Forsaken Containment room. You’ll need to look at a couple of knocked over PC towers to the left of the Arsenal Machine.
- The Wires can be located outside on the balcony of the Quantum Computing Room. You’ll want to look behind some boxes to the right of the Speed Cola Machine.
After collecting all the parts, make your way back to Blanchards office & craft the Essence Extractor. After crafting this, it will begin a lockdown that lasts a minute & a half. You’ll need to protect this device from the incoming undead & Klaus bots. Complete this lockdown & Blanchard will be killed, & his essence will be absorbed into the device.
Take this serum back to the lab where you collected the Clean Hood & to the device you collected the cyst from. Once there, you can craft the Gorgofex N.
