DMZ Season 4 is Adding What Fans Have Been Waiting For

Infinity Ward is releasing the most expansive update yet for Season 4 of DMZ, including a wallet

Save Your Money in DMZ With The New Wallet System

Beginning in Season 4, players can store the money they exfil with and bring in as much as they’d like into their next infill. This makes for much faster regain opportunities and ensures cash doesn’t ‘just’ turn into XP at the end of a match, especially if the player already hit max rank for that season. The new wallet will be available in your loadout selection, prior to the match starting. Wallets can be unlocked via the stash challenges in the forward operating base. That leads into the next big overhaul for DMZ, the main menu.

The NEW DMZ Menus & UI Improvements

With the introduction of new features, systems and challenges in Season 4, Infinity Ward has updated the layout of the main menu to give it a more intuitive feel.

  • Missions Objectives (mission select)
  • Location Objectives (map challenges)
  • Forward Operating Base (upgrade objectives)
  • Notes (collection)

If you’re wondering what the Forward Operating Base is (arguably one of the coolest updates in DMZ) then here’s a preview!

How The Forward Operating Base Changes DMZ Forever

Not only are we getting a makeover to the DMZ menus, but Season 4 is introducing new infrastructure to how challenges can be viewed and completed. Challenges are now passive, meaning players don’t have to select them like they previously had to with Faction missions. These challenges will unlock various upgrades through DMZ, and are divided into four categories as apart of the Forward Operating Base:

  • Weapons Locker
    • Insured Weapon Slots
    • Insured Weapon cooldown time
    • Contraband weapon stash size increases
  • Stash
    • Wallet Unlock
    • Wallet capacity
    • Key and Contraband Stash Size increases
  • Bounty Board
    • Personal Exfil
    • Barter recipes
    • Buy Station discounts
  • Communications Station
    • Urgent Missions access

The Forward Operating Base will serve as a hub, allowing players to progress even smoother through various challenges to get the items they need. This overhaul comes just in time with the release of the new Warzone 2 map: Vondel.

All New Reset, Refreshed & Urgent Missions

Infinity Ward has once again reset all mission progress to make room for the new Forward Operating base infrastructure. The new mission sets have been designed to work across multiple DMZ maps, while the story focused challenges will be unlocked by earning faction reputation through standard OR urgent missions. More on faction reputation is down below. Urgent missions are limited-time missions unlocked through upgrade objectives in the FOB. Urgent Missions will be rotated and offer different rewards for completion.

Full Inventory Wipe Coming in Season 4

In order to have everyone on an even playing field for the launch of our new exclusion zone, here is everything being wiped and kept on June 14th

  • Contraband Weapon Inventories will be rolled back to the starting weapons.
  • Key and Mission Inventories will be emptied.
  • Faction Missions and mission progress will be reset to make room for an updated mission set.
  • Insured Weapons Slots unlocked through previous Faction Mission progress will be reset for all-new ways to unlock these slots.
  • For clarity on any previous progress:
    • All previous mission and boss enemy rewards – for example previously acquired Weapons Case rewards – will not be reset, apart from Contraband and Keys.
    • Any earned Blueprint rewards unlocks will still be available in your Loadout select.

What is Faction Reputation?

A new system that’s been rumored since Season 2 is Faction Reputation. Faction Tiers are still a set of Missions with a Story Mission at the end. In Season 4, the Story Mission in each Tier is now unlocked when enough Faction Reputation has been earned. Players can complete both Standard Missions and Urgent Missions to earn Faction Reputation. Other rumors suggest there will be faction foot soldiers in various exclusion zones who will be hostile or friendly, depending on your reputation with that specific group.

New Faction: Phalanx

It appears both the Legion and Redacted factions are disappearing at the beginning of Season 4. Here’s the official statement about factions in Season 4:

With Season 04 comes the arrival of a new faction, Phalanx. Meanwhile, the REDACTED faction whom we met in Season 03 has unceremoniously disappeared from operations in the DMZ. No further intel is available on their whereabouts…

Station Chief Kate Laswell is conducting operations with Phalanx directly as she has an interest in the unknown enemy faction that has invaded Vondel. Phalanx and Black Mous will execute on missions together, gaining intel to uncover the force’s identity.

Dynamic Fog and How it Works in DMZ

Season 4 of Warzone is introducing dynamic fog exclusively in Vondel, but the fog will work differently between Battle Royale and DMZ. Visibility may become clearer or harsher as each match progresses, but the intensity of the fog will be much more apparent in DMZ than battle royale or resurgence. More information about the fog is said to be launching with the patch notes on June 14th.

DMZ is Still in Beta, But is Getting Another Season

Infinity Ward teased the future of DMZ at the end of their community update blog. They say they’re looking forward to future seasons and what they’re calling an ‘ongoing’ beta. Many exciting and [[REDACTED]] content is reportedly on the way. What that’s implying remains to be seen, but for more details on DMZ season 4, check out the video below
