DMZ PVE Mode Updates for Modern Warfare 4
Players demand a dedicated PVE Mode in Modern Warfare 4 DMZ due to heavy PVP focus. Pre-launch Single Squad Missions for solo matches was Infinity Ward developer testing only. Story Missions provide limited PVE with few players. No official PVE Mode exists yet, but IW may add one based on community feedback in future seasons.
Players have been asking for a dedicated PVE Mode in Modern Warfare 4 DMZ, due to the large focus on PVP currently inside of the mode during the launch month leading into Season 1. Today we’re breaking down all known info about a PVE Mode being added to DMZ in MW4:
Single Squad Missions in DMZ, denied by Infinity Ward
Before launch, an Episode of From The Ward showed an option in the DMZ menu named ‘Single Squad Mission’ alongside Story Missions, Dynamic Ops, and Free Roam. This lead to massive community speculation about a PVE Mode being added to DMZ for launch, until Infinity Ward revealed themselves during the DMZ Reddit AMA that players were never meant to see this option, as it was for Developers to test the Mode before Launch. This mode would’ve allowed players to be in their own match by themselves, with no other players.
Story Missions in DMZ
Currently, Story Missions in DMZ is the closest to a true PVE Mode in Modern Warfare 4. If you choose the ‘Story Mission’ option and select a mission before readying up in the Forward Operating Base, you will be placed into a match with only 3 other players, or 3 other teams if playing with a duo or trio.
As of November 2nd, this is still working for a PVE experience in DMZ, with minimal threat but players can still damage you.
PVE Mode in DMZ
As of now, there is no official confirmation of a PVE Mode in Modern Warfare 4 DMZ. but Infinity Ward is monitoring the community feedback and could potentially add one in future seasons. It is possible the Single Squad Missions get added, as they already exist for the studio, but it is unknown how likely that is.
Due to the community outrage for it, it is very possibly Infinity Ward listen to the feedback and add a dedicated PVE Mode in DMZ.
