While it’s still fairly early to be discussing Season 6 for Modern Warfare 3, The Haunting update may have already been teased. Call of Duty has seen a Haunting update in three of the last four titles, with several slasher icons featured as playable operators. Friday the 13th may be next in line for a Call of Duty crossover, as Jason Voorhees seems to be interested in coming to Modern Warfare III. Here’s everything we know so far about the MW3 Friday The 13th collaboration:
PREVIOUS HAUNTING EVENTS
Call of Duty has offered some major Halloween inspired events in the last couple of years. Characters like Leatherface, Billy The Puppet, Ghostface and even Ash Williams were added as playable operators.
Several Halloween themed LTMs, map reskins and bundles were also added to games like Modern Warfare (2019, Cold War and Modern Warfare II.
With Season 6 having been cancelled for Vanguard, that’s the only title in the last few years to skip out on a Haunting Update.
MW3 SEASON 6 CONFIRMED
Following the launch of weapon prestige camos in Season 3 Reloaded for MWIII, the menu confirms a Season 6 is indeed happening for the current title.
Oddly enough and with Black Ops 6 rumored to release on October 25th, it appears a Halloween update for MW3 will release much ahead of Treyarch’s next Call of Duty title.
As seen in previous titles, Season 6 will still be active even while a new Call of Duty releases, giving players time to complete their Battlepass.
FRIDAY THE 13TH COLLABORATION
Just this past week a Jason universe was announced, bringing forth new entertainment, merchandise, games and more. Friday the 13th has been a fairly dormant brand as of late, with its game recently being shut down.
Surprisingly, the new Jason Universe account only follows a few profiles on X, with Call of Duty being one of them.
The account only follows Call of Duty, Fortnite, Discussing film, A24 and IGN. While this may just be the Jason universe expressing interest in working with COD or Fortnite, a collab with one of these two is certainly inevitable.
JASON OPERATOR, EVENT & BATTLEPASS
Modern Warfare 2’s Haunting update featured a full Spawn themed battlepass, on top of several different Halloween inspired operators. From map reskins to limited time events, MW2 really raised the bar for the Haunting.
A Friday the 13th crossover for Call of Duty adds the potential for a Jason Voorhees themed operator bundle, or an entire Battlepass themed around Camp Crystal Lake.
The possibilities are endless for a Crystal lake multiplayer map or a Friday the 13th themed challenge event. After all, COD Ghosts (2013) added in Fog, a map themed around the Michael Myers character.
THE END
Do you think Jason Voorhees is crossing over with Call of Duty? If so will it be Modern Warfare 3 or Black Ops 6?
