Summer Games Fest brought our first look at the brand new WarZone map ‘Vondel’ but it also showed us a sneak peek to a CRAZY crossover coming to Modern Warfare 2 Season 4: The Boys! This has been widely requested across the Call of Duty community for awhile now, and its finally confirmed!
The Boys is an Amazon Prime Original that provides an interesting take on superheroes and how they would act in todays world. From corruption to straight up gruesome behavior, The Boys introduces us to all of these themes through characters like Homelander, Billy Butcher, and many more!
Our First Teaser CONFIRMING the Crossover!
The ending shot of the incredible new trailer for ‘Vondel’ featured the logo for “The Boys” that showed up on the top of a parking garage while a car was driving off of the roof.
The recent Season 4 Blog Post teased that “By Season 04 Reloaded, expect something extraordinary to come to the Operator pool as part of the Season 04 Reloaded update…” (Activision). At first we didn’t understand what this meant, but after todays Summer Game Fest trailer, we now know it was talking about a crossover with The Boys with the Season 4 Reloaded Update! We are expecting this update to release around the 12th or 19th of July!
Who Will They Add into Call of Duty?
There’s MANY amazing choices to choose from The Boys. It’s obvious we should be seeing Homelander (played by Antony Starr) as an operator for the “SpecGru” faction, as he is the most popular face for the show. Homelander has became an infamous icon for memes over the past year, so it only makes sense we see Antony Starr in all of his glory inside of Modern Warfare 2. It would be even crazier if we get Billy Butcher (played by Karl Urban) as an operator with this crossover as well. No official info has came out on who will be added via bundles into Modern Warfare 2/WarZone 2 Season 4.
All in all, this is breathtaking news. This is a crossover many Call of Duty fans will be very pleased with, more info will be posted and covered as we get closer to its official reveal, which usually gets teased a week before big title updates like Season 4 Reloaded.
