Black Ops 7 Zombies: Everything We Know (Reveal, Launch, and Beyond)

Black Ops 7 has just been officially revealed by Treyarch and with the recent trailer teasing Zombies it’s time to take a deep dive into everything we know about BO7 Zombies. Today we will be discussing the possibility of TranZit making its return inside of Black Ops 7 Zombies, when we can expect a full-fledged reveal for BO7 Zombies, the return of the original crew, Outbreak 3.0 + More! Here is what you need to know:

Black Ops 7 Zombies Reveal

Call of Duty Zombies usually doesn’t get revealed until later in the year towards the release window for that specific COD game however, with the recent Call of Duty’s (specifically MW3 2023 and Black Ops 6) Developers gave us an early preview for the Zombies mode earlier than expected.

During the Xbox Direct in June of last year (which gave us a 1-hour panel dedicated to Black Ops 6) we saw our first glimpse at BO6 which gave the community an insight on the brand new Omni-Directional Movement they were incorporating, information on Campaign, Multiplayer, and surprisingly enough

The Developers gave the community its first glimpse at Terminus and revealed that more information on Zombies will be announced at COD NEXT.

At COD NEXT for Black Ops 6, more information on Zombies was revealed to the community and the developers surprisingly allowed content creators to play Liberty Falls early during the play sessions however, this sparked lots of controversy in the community considering the map wasn’t entirely finished and fans criticized Liberty Falls on having “no aura”, “looks & feels like Warzone” and giving the nickname of the map “Liberty Balls”

For Black Ops 7 Zombies it’s uncertain when the official reveal will happen but the community could’ve gotten its first glimpse at Zombies via the reveal trailer of BO7 during the final seconds of gameplay teasers they showed. For a full-fledge reveal of the Zombies Mode, it’s unlikely we will get any information until late August or early September around the time COD NEXT happens however, Janus Towers could definitely kick start the marketing of Black Ops 7 Zombies with some sort of teaser during the Easter Eggs ending cutscene.

Outbreak 3.0 coming to Black Ops 7 Zombies?

With recent leaks for Black Ops 7 Zombies, Outbreak was one of modes rumored to be returning. Treyarch has tried Outbreak multiple times with, Black Ops Cold War & MW3 however, the mode received mixed receptions from the community but, majority of the fans however did enjoy the mode during Black Ops Cold War’s life-cycle but, the same could not be said with MWZ. Other rumors suggested the Outbreak map could be set on Avalon which was already confirmed & teased to be in BO7’s open world co-op Campaign experience.

If Treyarch does consider bringing back Outbreak into BO7 hopefully, they don’t repeat the same mistakes they did during MW3 life-cycle and pump out healthy post-launch content for the mode and not abandoned it like how they treated MWZ.

Dead Ops Arcade Returning in Black Ops 7

Dead Ops Arcade is a little side mode for Zombies that has appeared in every other Black Ops game such as, Black Ops 1, Black Ops 3, and Black Ops Cold War. It’s rumored Dead Ops 4 will be returning inside of Black Ops 7 most likely releasing during launch.

Tranzit Remake in Black Ops 7 Zombies?

The launch window of Black Ops 7 is rumored to feature “The biggest Round-Based map to ever release” according reliable leakers. It will have some sort of transportation system (possibly the return of the TranZit bus) and is rumored to be a spiritual successor to the iconic TranZit map from Black Ops 2.

In the last few seconds of the Black Ops 7 trailer, you could see a couple of Zombies and the headlights of a vehicle which seems to be a bus that could definitely well be the iconic TranZit bus. It’s unclear if this “TranZit inspired large map” will be taking place on Avalon with a possible Dark Aether twist considering Treyarch could’ve potentially scrapped the Outbreak experience for BO7 but reworked Avalon for the Round-Based experience.

5 MORE ROUND-BASED MAPS COMING TO BO7 ZOMBIES?

Insider Gaming has reported there will be 5 other additional Round-Based maps for Black Ops 7 Zombies. These maps were said to have been built from the ground up alongside the TranZit inspired Dark Aether map. Here are the locations reportedly being worked on for the Round-Based experience of Black Ops 7 Zombies:

  • Afghanistan
  • Vietnam
  • Volcanic Japanese temple
  • Post-WWII New York in an alternate reality where the Axis won the war
  • Space Station located in the Dark Aether

It’s also worth noting that Treyarch stated in the blog post of Black Ops 7 that players will be descending into the next twisted chapter of Round-Based Zombies in the heart of the Dark Aether. This could be our confirmation that the first Round-Based map at launch will be taking place inside the Dark Aether or perhaps even all of the DLC Round-Based Maps we will be getting throughout the post-launch Season will be in the Dark Aether.

REMASTERED ZOMBIES MAPS IN THE FUTURE FOR BO7?

Black Ops 7 is the perfect game to add classic remastered Zombies maps considering BO7 is a direct sequel to Black Ops 2 & it’s also rumored that Treyarch will be adding remastered BO2 Multiplayer maps at launch.

It would be a perfect opportunity to finally release the anticipated Zombies Chronicles 2 as fans have been begging for ZC2 to become a reality for years & the remaining Zombies Maps to not have gotten a remaster are, TranZit, Die Rise, & Buried which are maps from Black Ops 2

Return of Original Crew in Black Ops 7 Zombies

Based on a report from Insider Gaming a while back, we’re set to see the return of the original Zombies crew in Black Ops 7! The iconic characters include of Nikolai, Dempsey, Richtofen, & Takeo are to make their return inside of Black Ops 7 Zombies

reports state, these versions of the characters appeared to look older than their Primis counterparts but are also not their Ultimis variants.

PROGRESSION IN BLACK OPS 7 ZOMBIES

@RealityUK on Twitter has stated there’s new information on the progression system in Zombies. It’s unclear if this means Zombies will have its own progression system separated with Multiplayer or maybe the rank system will be similar to the Black Ops 6’s Prestige System.

NEW AUGMENTS COMING TO BO7 ZOMBIES.

@realityuk_ on Twitter has also confirmed the Augment system from Black Ops 6 Zombies will be making a return inside of Black Ops 7. Considering it’s rumored all of Black Ops 6 content will be carried forward into Black Ops 7, the Augments players obtained in BO6 Zombies will be usable in BO7.This could also mean potential new Augments getting added into BO7 throughout the post-launch Seasons.
