With the end of the year approaching, players have been anticipating more details on Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 to be revealed. News has been sparse, however, it was recently announced that BO7 will be opening Gamescon later this year. New details on COD NEXT 2025, the BO7 beta, as well as the global release date have been leaked. Here’s what you need to know:
COD Next Details Revealed
Spanish YouTuber ‘Alpha Sniper’ broke news on a leak regarding the yearly Call of Duty NEXT event set to happen later this year. According to Alpha, Call of Duty is considering having their NEXT Event at the end of September. Alongside this, the reported location for this event will be Las Vegas.
This leak by Alpha was later corroborated by CharlieIntel & TheGhostOfHope over on Twitter. This would be one of the later NEXT events compared to previous events that have taken place in the past:
- MWII – September 15th
- MW3 – October 5th
- BO6 – August 28th
Beta Dates Rumored
With this new leak of when COD Next is supposed to take place, it can be speculated that we’ll be seeing dates for the BO7 Beta announced during or after the event. Usually we see the first Beta period for the next COD game release right after the event ends. Then the following beta period occurs one week after the first one, typically beginning on a Friday.
If COD Next is to happen at the end of September, then will probably see the BO7 beta release at the end of September as well, if not in early October. To give examples, these are the beta dates from previous entries to compare to the NEXT Event dates above:
- MWII | (September 16th – September 20th) & (September 22nd – September 26th)
- MW3 | (October 6th – October 10th) & (October 12th – October 16th)
- BO6 | (August 30th – September 4th) & (September 6th to September 9th)
Black Ops 7 Launch Date Leaked
On the topic of leaks & speculated information, TheGhostOfHope over on Twitter also has reported that the official & full global release date for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will be November 14th. This will make it the latest released Call of Duty in recent years. With this release date timeframe, Season 6 of BO6 will likely have more time to shine & be fleshed out.
This also gives the game time to get any potential bugs fixed & ironed out. With a Co-op Campaign, rich & futuristic Multiplayer, as well as a return to form for Zombies, BO7 has the potential to be a generational game. It’s better to have it be fully ironed out & not wind up in another situation similar to BO4. Black Ops 4 came out with ambition & innovation, but was released too soon & wasn’t quite ready just yet.
