Blackout was one of the most popular Battle Royale modes back in Black Ops 4, & Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 & Warzone is in a way, bringing it back! A brand new mode is coming soon to BO7 & will draw inspiration from the classic Battle Royale experience, bringing players back to a simpler time. For those who enjoyed Call of Duty’s first Battle Royale, strap in as we’re going to go over all the details we know so far about the new mode coming to Black Ops 7 & Warzone, as well as a release date, & more! Here’s what you need to know:
Blackout Returning In Black Ops 7 & Warzone
While Avalon is playable in the Endgame mode, it will also be the stage for the new mode coming to Black Ops 7/Warzone. For those unfamiliar, Blackout was the first Battle Royale experience in Call of Duty, releasing in Black Ops 4. A teaser within the recent Blog Post shows a short clip of the new experience.
The teaser shows a squad of 4 dropping into Avalon with their wingsuits pulled. Many others around them are dropping in as well with red smoke trails behind them. This indicates the mode will be a 4 player squad experience, similar to the original Blackout. What’s important to note is the mode has been described as built from the ground up. It’s unknown if the mode will split later on where duos can drop in as opposed to full squads.
Blackout Release Date in Black Ops 7 & Warzone
The recent blog from Call of Duty indicated that we we’ll be seeing this Blackout experience in Season 2 Reloaded. While Season 2 drops on February 5th, Season 2 Reloaded won’t release till roughly March 12th. This is not a confirmed date, but is based off the timeframe around the weekly challenges, with Week 6 dropping on March 12th as there is currently only 5 Weeks planned until Season 2 Reloaded. Players will have their hands full once the mode drops in Season 2 Reloaded.
