MW2 Assault On Vondel Event: All Challenges and Rewards
Season 4 adds in the most content packed challenge event yet, offering several exclusive rewards.
What is The Assault On Vondel Event?
Over the last few years, fans have some to love the seasonal challenge events, offering a variety of different cosmetic rewards for completing missions across the different modes in that title. Modern Warfare 2 has arguably offered the most amount of free cosmetics through each season’s challenge event. Season 4 has raised the bar through ‘Assault on Vondel’ as players can not only unlock in game features, equipment and a weapon through community challenges, but can also complete a series of mastery challenges to unlock some impressive cosmetics at their own pace. Some of the mastery challenges are to be completed at specific points of interest on Vondel, while others require you to play different modes in MWII multiplayer. Each challenge completion rewards you with a medal, as each reward requires you to have earned a set amount of medals. Players can also infinitely unlock medals after finishing the event, by placing 5th or higher in Warzone matches, or by getting 15 kills in winning multiplayer matches.
All Challenges in Assault On Vondel
As listed above, there are both community and mastery challenges as apart of the event. As of today, only one community challenge is known, while the others are locked. They are as follows:
- As a community, earn 125 million medals (Taxi boat and trams on Vondel)
- TBA (Reinforcement flare field upgrade)
- TBA (Personal supply box feature)
- TBA (New Tonfa melee weapon unlock)
The mastery challenges consist of 45 challenges, with three being specific to each of Vondel’s point of interests. Each individual challenge per point of interest rewards you with one medal, for a total of three medals that can be earned per location. As stated above, many of them require you to be IN a specific point of interest, while others ask you to play Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer. The challenges are as follows:
- Graveyard – Find the detonator at graveyard, complete a contract started at graveyard, kill 10 enemies at graveyard
- Castle – Find the detonator at castle, complete a contract started at castle, kill 10 operators at castle
- University – Find the detonator at university, complete a contract started at university, open 10 containers at university
- Market – Find the detonator at market, open 10 containers at the market, kill 3 operators at the market
- City Hall – Find the detonator at city hall, complete a contract started at city hall, kill 10 enemies at city hall
- Mall – Find the detonator at the mall, open 10 containers at the mall, kill 3 operators at the mall
- Central Station – Find the detonator at central station, complete a contract started at central station, kill 3 operators at central station
- Museums – Find the detonator at museums, complete a contract started at museums, kill 3 operators at museums
- Stadium – Find the detonator at stadium, open 10 containers at stadium, kill 10 enemies at stadium
- Zoo – Find the detonator at zoo, open 10 containers at zoo, kill 10 enemies at zoo
- Logistics – Win 5 matches of hardpoint, confirm 75 kills in kill confirmed, get 25 assault kills
- Operations – Win 5 matches of Search and Destroy, capture 25 points in Domination, Get 25 defender kills
- Intelligence – Win 5 matches of headquarters get 3 kills without dying 15 times in TDM, get 15 high value target kills in Bounty

Although all rewards can be earned through different medal milestones, some rewards require full ownership of Modern Warfare 2 to unlock. The current list of rewards is as follows:

- Good to Be King Sticker – Requires 10 Medals
- Seadog x12 Blueprint – Requires 10 Medals & MWIII Ownership
- Trishula Signal 50 Blueprint – Requires 20 Medals
- Deep Sea Danger Decal – Requires 20 Medals & MWII Ownership
- Splatter Tactics Universal Camo – Requires 25 Medals
- Breath in The Soul Weapon Sticker – Requires 25 Medals & MWII Ownership
- Randy in The Ribbiter Large Decal – Requires 30 Medals
- Electrifying Operator Finishing Move – Requires 35 Medals

Will More Content Be Added to Assault On Vondel
Every mid season update for Modern Warfare 2 has refreshed that season’s challenge event with new missions and rewards. With the community aspect of Assault on Vondel being listed as ‘STAGE 1’ in the blogpost, it’s likely that ‘STAGE II’ will offer more unlockables during the mid season 4 update in July.
