ARC Raiders released on October 30th, 2025 on Xbox X|S, PlayStation 5, Steam, and Epic Games Store. With that came the ever-immersive world of ARC Raiders, placing you into a destroyed world where only the brave venture top side and risk it all to collect high value loot or complete quests for the Traders below in Speranza. Today, we’re going to review ARC Raiders and why it is a MUST PLAY in 2025:
The Gameplay loop of ARC Raiders starts with venturing Top Side, into the destroyed world spanning across multiple Locations, starting off with the Dam Battlegrounds. As you play more games, you’ll unlock new areas to explore, loot, and complete missions on, like The Blue Gate, Buried City, or the Spaceport. Seems simple? Well not exactly. Top Side is FULL of dangers like the ARC, robots that fell from the sky and took over the world as they knew it. Also, fellow Raiders also deploy into these locations, and it is up to you (or them) to team up or fight to the death. Elimination means you lose all of your loot for that specific Raid, with the only way to secure that loot is to successfully extract…
Now that we’ve got the main premise out of the way, ARC Raiders is simply brilliant. From the deep immersive gameplay to the HILARIOUS In-Game Interactions you can have with other Players, ARC Raiders can be enjoyed either Solo or with a Squad so you don’t need to worry about not having a good time without friends, you can make new ones!
The Weapons, Combat, Enemies, and Ambience have exceptional sound design, specifically tailored to make you fall into this apocalyptic world, so much so you’ll never want to leave. I’ve found myself playing ARC Raiders and completely losing track of time, as each game presents a unique story that unravels as the 30 minute timer counts down. A simple loot run could turn into helping multiple Raiders with their Quests, or teaming up to destroy some of the more menacing ARCs topside!
I cannot stress this enough, ARC Raiders is a MUST PLAY for casual or hardcore gamers alike, it’s simply the perfect blend of high intensity gameplay but still has a lot of downtime for those who prefer that style of play. It is the ultimate entry point for extractions shooters, offering easy to pick up gameplay with depth that will keep you coming back for more. This is exactly why it has evolved the Extraction Shooter Genre in a new direction, appealing to any level of player with any playstyle they choose. I’ve only played for around 30 hours, and I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon.
Final Verdict on ARC Raiders
ARC Raiders proves it self to be an amazing entry to the Extraction Shooter Genre. With an unprecedented launch for Embark Studios, consistently breaking its Highest Steam Player count days after release, the future for ARC Raiders has never been brighter. My only problems with the game come from small Quality of Life Changes needed for the Stash and Crafting System, to help free up space so you’re not hoarding insane amounts of items, filling up your Stash. A solution to this would be to allow players to put crafting materials into a recipe or upgrade, taking it out of your stash so it can free space. Other than that, ARC Raiders is a solid 9.5/10 and deserves all the praise its been getting from multiple different online communities, content creators, and streamers!
Additionally, Embark Studios has already released their 2025 Content Roadmap, providing a promising and strong end to the year (and beyond) for ARC Raiders!
