All Side Easter Eggs
Music Easter Egg
You’ll need to find the 3 different Mister Peeks headphones to trigger the music Easter egg for Totenreich. These are the locations of the three different headsets:
Location 1
The first headset can be found in the Dry Dock. It will be to the right of the Speed Cola machine down below the ship.
Location 2
The second can be located within the Core Foundry. Head into the small room across from Double Tap & check in the corner between the 2 doors.
Location 3
The third headset can be found inside of Loven’s Antiques. It will be behind the glass case in the shop. This building is located across from the Tier 2 Armor wall buy in Skallen Square.
Interacting with this will begin the Easter Egg song for Totenreich!
Wonder Weapon
There’s a quest to obtain the Jotunn Star Wonder Weapon. It’s required for the main quest, but this is how you can obtain the Wonder Weapon for yourself:
- Chain Link
- Head over to the Dry Dock & into the 01 Building side room that faces the front of the ship. There is a panel to interact with to lower a walljump platform. Perform the wall jump & grab the Chain Link off the front tip of the ship.
- Chili Chunks
- Make your way over to the Storm Bridge, & locate the truck next to Deadshot. Towards the back of the truck, you can pick up Chili Chunks. Take these to the middle of the Skallen Market & place them on the center table next to the others.
- Lantern
- After placing the Chili, wait for the second special round to begin & a Zursa should spawn. Eliminating the Zursa should drop the lantern. Collect it & take it over the Burial Grounds. Interact with & repair the door to access the underground area. Place the lantern in the center of the room.
- Constellations
- Once you’ve placed the lantern, 4 constellations will appear on the altar & multiple will appear around the room. There’s a specific order in which you need to match & interact with the constellations on the wall. When looking at the altar from the staircase, match & interact with rhe constellations in the following order:
- Left
- Right
- Back
- Front
- Once you’ve completed this correctly, a spirit named Astrid will spawn. You’ll need to follow her around as she appears in various points of the map. Every now & again she’ll stop & initiate a frost zombie soulbox. After enough are filled, she’ll make her way over the lighthouse.

When looking at the altar from the staircase, match & interact with rhe constellations in the following order:

- Once you & Astrid have arrived at the lighthouse, she will conjure up an obstacle course that you must complete to reach the top. You must utilize your wall-jumping in this course. After reaching the top however, you will be rewarded with the Jotunn Star Wonder Weapon.
Richtofen Side Easter Egg
This side Easter Egg delves into the backstory of our latest iteration of Edward Richtofen. Before even beginning your game of Zombies, make sure you select Richtofen as your playable character. After beginning your game, these are the steps to follow.
- You’ll need to obtain the Jotunn Star Wonder Weapon. You must also purchase Melee Macchiato.
- This Easter Egg can only be activated on Round 15 or higher.
- Once you’ve obtained these, head over to Core Foundry & use your punch on the furthest barrel to the left of the Gobblegum machine. After doing this, dig through the barrel to retrieve an Artifact of Richtofens’ past.
- After picking the artifact up, you’ll be transported into the side quest. Without spoiling what’s within, you need to proceed forward by picking up the documents on the floor to past.
- Once you enter the main room, interact with the radio on the shelf to the right. A broadcast will play you must listen to.
- You’ll then need to pick up the sword & place it into the hands of the statue to the right. As well as interact with the shards on the desk. Dialogue will play involving those of Richtofens past.
- For additional lore drops, enter 1-1-5 onto the radio you listened to the initial broadcast on. You can also enter 9-3-5 for extra lore.

Singing Fish Easter Egg
This Easter egg will lead to the creation of a new & unique trap in Totenreich. To begin this side Easter egg, head on over to the Lighthouse & into the little shed with the Arsenal Machine. There should be a fish on a shelf to the left of the Arsenal.
Grab this fish & craft a Shock Charge from the workbench. After doing this, wait for the next T.E.D.D. Task to begin & initiate it. After doing so, attach the fish to T.E.D.D. by interacting with the machine. Throw your shock charge at him, & complete the Task to the maximum reward.
Once you complete the T.E.D.D. Task, you’ll be given the fish back, as well as a piece of T.E.D.D. Take these over to Eidskallen Square & place them onto the plaque on the wall. This wall is across from another Arsenal Machine, & will require you to craft the trap.
Once crafted, you can activate it for 2,000 points. It will begin to sing & attract zombies. It will also turn them into momentary allies.
Secret Rooms
When you eject from out of Tyr’s head within Totenreich, there’s a chance you’ll be teleported to a secret room. These are a callback to the phenomena introduced in Kino Der Toten. These secret rooms you can end up in by chance:
- The hallway from Richtofen’s Side Easter Egg.
- The room from the MWZ intro cutscene with the dead Requiem Crew.
- The room from the MWZ cutscene where Ava was pulled into the Dark Aether by the Warden. (You can hear the same dialogue from Ravenov that plays during that cutscene.)
Fishing Easter Egg
You can find a Fishing Rod in multiple locations around Totenreich. They are usually located near water or near barrels. After grabbing one, you can use them at 11 different fishing locations around the map. Once you place the rod, wait for it to turn blue before interacting again to reel the fish in.
These are the 11 different fishing locations:
- 1x at Spawn.
- 1x to the right if the Zipline headed to the Lighthouse from Eidskallen Landing.
- 1x on either side of the Lighthouse near the Flak Gun Turrets.
- 1x to the left of the Zipline headed from Eidskallen Square to the Lighthouse.
- 1x Right out the back door of the antique shop in Eidskallen Square.
- 1x Across from the church in the Tyr’s Shoulder POI.
- 1x Near the Security Checkpoint in the Tyr’s Foot POI.
- 1x Right in front of the boat in the Dry Dock.
- 1x To the right of the Pack-a-Punch machine, higher up on the railing.
- 1x On the side of Juggernog.
There are various rewards you can get from fishing including but not limited to:
- Essence

Viking Helmets
There are 4 different Viking Helmets you can unlock within Totenreich. All with their own unique abilities & unlock criteria.
Golden Tide Helmet
If you fish enough times on the map, you’ll eventually pull a zombie wearing a Viking helmet. This is the Golden Tide Helmet. This Helmet when equipped will give you a chance at better loot when you fish, as well as decreasing the amount of time it does take to fish.
If you happen to save & quit, you’ll notice upon reloading, the helmet will be gone. Simply head to Bloodheim Hall & you can pick it up for free.
Kneehigh Hemlet
For a prerequisite, you need to equip the Shadow Rift Ammo Type to your weapon. After doing this, locate 4 gnomes scattered around the map. These are the locations of the gnomes:
- The first can be found in the Machine Workshop, on top of a machine next to a pile of debris. It’s visible from the railing above.
- The second can be found out of bounds at Tyr’s Foot. If you look out towards where a power line connects with facility. It will be high up & a good distance away, between the building you can enter, & truck right outside the POI.
- The third can be located within Eidskallen Stave Church. Look towards the unplayable space for an altar with a painting above it. The gnome is on the altar under the painting.
- The final one can be found on the backside of the lighthouse. You’ll need to look underneath the top of the lighthouse platform. It’s very hard to spot, but you’ll be given hit marker indicators once you’ve shot it.
Make your way over to Loven’s Antiques in Eidskallen Square. Within the shop, you’ll find a table with a Viking helmet surrounded by gnomes. Once you’ve equipped this helmet & crouch, you’ll be transformed into a gnome. You can take out enemies in this form, & it can be rebought in Bloodheim Hall for 6,000 points.
Ice Mane Helmet
To obtain this helmet, you’ll need to utilize the Flammenfalle Trap. This is the unlock criteria for the Ice Mane Helmet:
- Get 250 Normal Zombie Kills with the Flamethrower portion of the Flammenfalle Trap
- Kill 50 Frost Zombies within the warmth aura circle of the trap (activated by interacting with the trap instead of the power switch), with normal bullet weapons.
Once this is completed, the helmet will be available to claim. The helmet grants the player immunity to freezing. It also grants a freezing effect when sliding to freeze the undead.
Cointoss Helmet
There’s a way to get another Viking helmet, as well as a guaranteed Powerup to spawn by completing this side Easter egg. If you enter Tyr, look directly ahead & above the Gruppe 935 screen. There will be a small screen flashing numbers & letter. Keep note of the letter it lands on, as well as the number.
Take this new coordinate & match it on your Tac Map. Once you’ve pinged the location on the map, head there & get kills matching the number the screen had displayed. After getting the amount of kills needed, head back onto Tyr & the Powerup will spawn on-top to the balcony.
This can be repeated once every round. This allows you to earn a Powerup every round, all being completely random when spawned in. If you complete this process 10 times, the helmet will be available to obtain. This helmet gives zombies a higher chance of dropping powerups.
Free Powerups
These are the locations of the multiple free powerups you can activate & spawn within Totenreich:
- Max Ammo – Fishery Island atop the triangular wooden structure.
- Max Armor – Lief’s Boat Repair in the back top corner of the shack on-top of a bucket.
- Full Power – Dry Dock on top of the ship, visible from the back of the ship.
