Call of Duty Next featured the first ever full showcase for Black Ops 6! Even though Black Ops 6’s Warzone Integration isn’t getting a new big map to replace Urzikstan at the launch of Season 1, there will be a new map coming named Area 99! Area 99 is the birthplace of all the different Nuketown maps, and will have it’s own dedicated Warzone map! Today, we will go over everything that we know about Area 99 including Point of Interests, first impressions, and more! Ready to learn about Area 99? Here’s what you need to know:
A NEW WARZONE MAP
Set in the 50s, Area 99 is a top-secret facility nestled and concealed from the public, within the unforgiving Nevada Desert. Area 99 is the birthplace of the fan favorite map & a staple of the Black Ops franchise, Nuketown. It’s also the birthplace of the Mannequins, synonymous with the map & its Easter Eggs. Area 99 will be the 10th map to release in the Warzone mode & is shaping up to be one of the best yet!
NEW POIs
With the release of the new Warzone map, comes new locations to explore. There will be 10 New & Unique POIs within Area 99 to venture, loot, & engage with. Players are in for a treat with Warzone this year. Let’s take a look at where you’ll be exploring in the new Warzone map:
- Warehouse
- Loading Bay
- Pods
- Nuketown Shipping
- Reactor
- Cooling Towers
- Test Site
- Mannequin Assembly
These are bound to be POIs that’ll draw all sorts of engagement situations, especially with the new omni movement system. From battling trios inside Mannequin Assembly, Loading Bay, or even the Warehouse, are you looking forward to playing Area 99 & exploring all the new POIs?
IT GETS SMALLER?
Area 99 is set to be even smaller than Rebirth island. It’ll be a far cry from the huge maps like Al Mazrah or Urzikstan, but will be just as if not more action packed. Most didn’t think a Warzone map could get smaller, & yet Black Ops 6 did the unthinkable. There will be a limit of 45 Players per match. That equates down to 15 different squads, all competing for that coveted #1 spot.
